LUCENT® is a study concerning the lung cancer surgical activity of selected Italian Centers to represent the varied national reality. The study has the aim to have relevant numbers and could represent an opportunity in the evaluation of surgical outcomes. The study could also be an arena for the multidisciplinary discussion of the other non-surgical specialities involved in the treatment of lung cancer (such as oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, biologists, etc).

LUCENT® will consider the surgical interventions for lung cancer despite of the approach (thoracotomy, VATS, Robotics).

LUCENT® has an intuitive, streamlined, and quick database to fill in with, not also the surgical and staging aspect, but:

• Non-surgical treatments (both neoadjuvant and adjuvant)
• Follow-up

Obtaining adequate follow-up will be an aim of LUCENT® with the development of suitable tools in compliance with the regulations on privacy
 

The study will be developed by the investigators of different national centers which have the aim of defining the scientific aspects, regulating access to data and specifying the rules of Authorship.

The number of Centers involved (42 centers) guarantees almost 50% AGENAS national data of the lung cancer surgery performed in Italy every year. This large participation guarantees a high quality of the data entered.
